Blogging Bliss entry #1

This is my first time creating a blog.  I have little experience with blogging in general.  Learning about blogging was pretty interesting.  I was familiar with the concept of blogging, however I have never followed any blogs on a regular basis before.  I found the information about blogging on Wikepedia to be very interesting.  I enjoyed reading about political sensitivity and the possible dangers of blogging when it comes to writing about politics.  I also found interesting the concept of fictional or "fake blogs" which are blogs produced by a company in order to market a product.
I didn't have any problems creating my blog page although it is not customized yet.  It was fairly easy to set up and its mostly self explanatory.  I am not sure how comfortable I am with blogging personal opinions.  I am someone who is not fond of sharing some my personal opinions in fear of others disagreeing and creating confrontation.
I did not find a favorite blog, however I did find a few that were of interest.  I was looking for blogs related to the topic of health, and teen health.  I am a health education major at UNM focusing on school health with hopes to be a Health teacher within the grades of 7-12.  Most of the blogs I found related to health focused on health care or other political ties to health in which most cases I did not agree with nor enjoy reading.  I think a blog made for teens to reference about common situations and ideas related to their emotional, physical, and mental well being would make a great blog.  I am sure a good blog with this topic has been done before, I just have yet to find it.
Most blogs that I have been exposed to are mainly photography blogs. Some of my favorites  http://kmariphotography.blogspot.com/ and http://fuckyeahnm.tumblr.com/.  The second blog I mentioned though it may sound offensive, is actually an "Everything New Mexico" photography blog which has some of the most beautiful and interesting shots of everything from the New Mexico dessert sky to some good ol New Mexican food.  http://kmariphotography.blogspot.com/ is a blog for a photography company, which is actually owned by a friend of mine, who I happen to think has a talent for capturing any moment in time that creates a warm fuzzy feeling inside.  These are two of the many photos taken by this photographer of my fiance and I right after our engagement take place.

I absolutely love this photography blog because when the photographer posts pictures from her sessions its almost as if you are reading a story and by the last photo it's as if you know the people in the pictures.
Another blog I came across and found interesting is http://instructorgadget.blogspot.com/.  This blog is operated by two teachers who met teaching at UNM (where I currently attend school).  Their blog posts consists of teaching concepts, lesson plan ideas for many subjects and even classroom management ideas.  Though their are no followers and it seems that this blog does not get updated too often, I really like the concept of this blog along with the specific ideas posted as well.
I think if a blog has a great concept and is followed through with consistency it generally makes a good blog.  I also believe blogs are more interesting when there are many followers to contribute to thoughts and opinions on the posts.

  1. Congratulations on the engagement, you both seem very much in love. I do a little photography as a hobby and thought the fuckyeahnm blog was fantastic. I loved the picture of the dog on the back of the bicyclist; I thought it was very cute.
